Dave Becomes Obsessed with California Fortune 500 Companies Let Dave Spend Their Money
After a year of fantasizing about the move, Dave submerges himself in California culture. He begins listening to Jimi Hendrix and The Doors. His reading habits sway to that of Hunter Thompson and Tom Wolfe’s "Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test." He tries to read Jack Kerouac’s "On The Road," but finds it exceedingly dull. Dave’s family notices an overuse of the word "man." Beginning at Davis Ball & Colombatto Advertising(1990), Dave is the primary media planner for McDonald’s advertising in the Sacramento, Fresno, Reno and Chico/Redding markets. Next year, Mediasmith acquires Dave’s planning and consulting talents for work on DHL, InSight, Charles Schwab and Spectrum Holobyte.
Mikhail Gorbachev Hails, "Dave Spark Puts the Commie Back in Comedy"
Just one of the many reactions overheard when Dave decides to hit the road to work colleges and clubs across California(1992). Audiences at Berkeley, Stanford, The Holy City Zoo, and the Last Laugh are grateful for Dave’s decision. More nationwide giggling is heard as listeners of the American Comedy Network are blessed with a couple of Dave Spark’s radio parodies. San Franciscans eagerly tune into Dave on KDBK and KMEL. And the tantamount anticipation is overwhelming as Dave makes his television debut in Sacramento on "Laughs Unlimited: Almost Live."
